The Month of March Best Buddies Month
In 1992, Anthony Kennedy Shriver, founder of Best Buddies, named March Best Buddies Month in recognition of the efforts made to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and to draw attention to the work still to be done to diminish the isolation and misunderstanding that often surrounds intellectual disabilities.
Join Best Buddies in the Celebration!
The holidays are a time to enjoy the spirit of the season with those we care about - friends and family. Take a moment and think about what your life would be like without your friends. For many people living with intellectual disabilities, this is a reality not only during the holiday season, but throughout the entire year.
Best Buddies Connecticut believes that everyone should have a friend. Through our efforts to provide social opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, we have been able to make a difference in the lives of over 2,300 Connecticut residents. In 2008 we will continue to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by creating new and lasting friendships.
Help Best Buddies continue our mission of inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities in 2008.
